What is Gallbladder
A common question is what are gallbladder
stones and how are they formed. Gallstones form in the gallbladder which is
also known as Pitta in Urdu. To understand the gallbladder and its functions,
we first need to understand the digestive system. When we eat food, the food
passes through the mouth down the food pipe into the stomach. The stomach is responsible
for chewing the food and converting it into a liquid before sending it further
for digestion in the intestines. The liver is producing a critical liquid
called bile which helps in the digestion of fats. Bile flows through tubes from
the liver and reaches the small intestines.

Gallbladder
The gallbladder is a small balloon-like
structure hanging from these tubes. Between meals, the bile that is produced
from the liver is stored in the gallbladder. Sometimes stones form inside the
gallbladder. These are commonly referred to as gall bladder stones or gall
stones and in Urdu called pitta stones. Gallbladder stone removal can be done
